On May 9th, Sant Josep Obrer celebrated Europe Day.

The students of 1stF prepared a very interesting presentation about the EU for all the 1st-year baccalaureate groups. We also enjoyed a fun Kahoot and handed out European-themed gifts.

Celebrating Europe Day is not just a tradition, it is a way to remember and reflect on the values that unite us. This date marks the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, presented on May 9th, 1950, by French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman. In the aftermath of World War II, his proposal laid the foundations for lasting peace in Europe, envisioning a new form of political and economic cooperation that would eventually lead to the European Union.

More than seventy years later, the message of the Schuman Declaration remains incredibly relevant. In a world still facing conflict, economic challenges, and social inequalities, the EU continues to promote peace, democracy, solidarity, and the protection of human rights.

By celebrating Europe Day, we recognize the importance of staying informed and engaged as European citizens. It reminds us that the EU is not just a political project, but a shared commitment to build a future based on cooperation, diversity, and mutual respect.
