Rome, November 22, 2024 the University of Roma Tre, within its Department of Political Science, will host the highly anticipated EUPress Stakeholder Meeting. This EU co-funded project aims to educate young journalists with a comprehensive understanding of European affairs, fostering civic awareness and high-quality journalism. The event will take place in the Aula Tesi on the second floor, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, and will be a pivotal moment to discuss strategies for European civic education.
The program will open with a welcome address by Professor Fabio Masini, the academic coordinator of the project, who will highlight the significance of educating future media professionals in the European context. Following this, Francesca Berti, the project officer, will provide an update on the project’s implementation status, outlining the progress made and the upcoming milestones of this dynamic and evolving initiative.
Roberto Castaldi from Euractiv Italia will then discuss the challenges and opportunities of communicating European civic education. His presentation will focus on effectively conveying the values and policies of the European Union, an essential aspect to ensure that young citizens are informed and engaged in democratic processes.

A significant contribution to the event will come from CesUE, a key player in the project specializing in communication and dissemination. CesUE’s involvement underscores the project’s commitment to effectively promoting European awareness and ensuring that its messages reach a broad and diverse audience.
The core of the event will be the stakeholder debate, bringing together key players from institutions, associations, and the educational sector. This discussion will serve as a platform to share best practices for raising awareness about Europe among young people and to develop a new generation of journalists equipped to report on the EU with a well-informed and critical perspective.
EUPress stands out for its mission: to equip young professionals with the skills to understand and communicate the intricacies of European policies, aiming to bridge the informational gap and foster a sense of belonging to the European community. Through educational activities and practical sessions, participants will gain valuable tools to narrate Europe in a precise, engaging, and accessible manner.
The Stakeholder Meeting, therefore, represents a crucial opportunity to strengthen the dialogue between European institutions and future media professionals. EUPress aims to ensure that young journalists are not just observers but active promoters of an informed and responsible citizenry.
