The event took place in a big hall in the town centre and people of all kinds of line attended it. The event was covered by the local TV as well as the state channel of ERT.
The speakers invited were: 1)Ms Elena Kountoura, MEP, The Left group in the European Parliament, 2)Ms Maria Spyraki, MEP, Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats), 3)Dr Suzanna – Maria Nikolaou, University Professor, Sociology of Education and 4)Mr Mihail Nikolaou, President of Arta’s Lawyers’ Association.
The event started by the students, involved in the project, who expressed their concerns about contemporary issues and their future. (They presented their part as being involved in conversation discussing EU Values and EU’s political priorities. Some students sitting among the audience addressed questions to them so as to make it even more realistic.) This served as an introduction to the subject that was followed by the guest speakers’ proposals, an interesting discussion among them, and questions from the public that led to a broader conversational involvement.
The event really met the standards of our expectations.
